Michael Rulhman “Had Something to Say” – Stupid Kitchen Tools

We’re back with new episodes of the Had Something To Say video series! Michael Ruhlman visited us at our studio and we spent a few hours together stirring up some heated conversations about everything from kitchen tools to Ruth Bourdain. But we wouldn’t have it any other way because we feel so lucky to be working with fabulous people and photography projects.

As you can tell, we’ve been a bit absent on recipe sharing over the last few months. We miss being away from our »

This past Summer we traveled to Texas to film Georgia Pellegrini’s promo video for her new book, Girl Hunter. We were thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to work with Georgia. Have you heard of Georgia and her accomplishments or visited her site? If not, you should, she is amazing.

Georgia graduated from Harvard and worked in finance at Lehman Brothers in New York City. But something drew her to food and so she left finance and entered culinary school at The French Culinary Institute in New York City, where she graduated at the top of her class. »

If you haven’t already heard the news, then hopefully this video will share it all. On Monday, our dear friend Jennifer Perillo’s husband died of a sudden heart attack. Jennie is a special force in the food community and is loved by many.

We had a gathering in our garden with friends Brooke, Jen, Gaby, Penny and Rene when we heard of the news.  It was a shock to us all and were left speechless for a long moment of silence. Fortunately we were together to comfort one another in the pain.

Jennie asked that in honor of those we »

Before any finger wagging and tsking gets directed towards Michael over the title of the latest “Had Something to Say”, we’d like to stand up and say we are to blame.  Or at least raise our hand, since we are writing this post while lying in bed at the end of the night. I think we took the only curse he muttered in the entire time of filming all of this series and made it into the title.

How can you not love a family who’ve named their chickens “Kung Pao, Soup, Cacciatore.” ? These are our kind of people.

The “Kung Pao” family mentioned is none other than Michelle Stern of WhatsCookingWithKids.com and her lovely clan. We had a great time with them filming a promo for Michelle’s upcoming book, The Whole Family Cookbook.»
