Great Kitchen Tools Video: Michael Ruhlman Had Something to Say
It’s always so invigorating to discuss and debate the topic of Stupid Kitchen Tools with Michael during our last video segment. To follow up on the topic of kitchen tools, we have a great line up of videos of Michael sharing his “Great Kitchen Tools”.
Today, we’re sharing the latest one we produced with Michael on this project about “Great Kitchen Tools. The topic for this episode is basically what he calls “rocks and sticks”.
Take a look and let us know if you agree!

Awesome. I couldn’t agree more in terms of beauty and functionality: how great is a mortar and pestle?
Diane and Todd: what a pleasure it was to meet the two of you at blogger, and to sit with you at the table as we all thought about branding? Wow. I felt so privileged to be be able to give you a bit of insight into the wonderful branding that I see that you have already shared with us on this blog!
Susan- it was such a thrill and joy to finally meet you at blissdom!! hope to connect again, please keep in touch. xoxoox
Interesting how simpler a tool, the more functional it can be. Even when I eat Western style food, I still pull out my chopsticks–spaghetti is way easier using two sticks! I can’t imagine life without them!
Wow, Todd and Diane, that might be the worst food related video I have ever seen. This guy really loves himself. He’s so condescending and thinks he’s the authority on everything. Michael definitely has a god complex. These videos add nothing to your wonderful website. Sorry
Hi Ron- Michael definitely wants us to think about cooking in the kitchen more and continue the conversations on different levels. This project is one example of how he challenges us to think more about food and how we cook. We don’t always agree with him either! But it’s a refreshing, creative outlet for us to collaborate with him on this. And Michael is a really nice guy, a great heart and passionate soul!
I have a mortar and pestel, but never use it. I should haul it out and keep it on my windowsill as he said 🙂
Chopsticks are indeed versatile things…I don’t have fancy ones though. I’d like some but for now, I use “disposable” ones that I have in my kitchen drawer.
Thanks for an amazing event. I blogged about it. One of the best days I’ve had in a long time. So much wonderful energy and great people. Thank you for hosting and bringing us all together!
