Food Blogger Camp: Final Video, thoughts & sad farewell
Food bloggers are a force to be reckoned with in more ways than we could have ever imagined. In just two years of writing, photographing and sharing our lives with all of you from around the world, the impact of all your friendship, support and community has been one of the things we hold closest to our hearts.
For many of us, the driving force behind our stamina and enthusiasm for blogging comes from the powerful community we are a part of. The topic of community seemed to be one of the strongest themes that we discussed during this amazing week at Club Med’s Food Blogger Camp in Ixtapa, Mexico. The importance of building community, and supporting one another to be come better writers, photographers and bloggers was what made this Food Blogger vacation week so inspiring.
Informative workshops led byJaden and David, Elise, Dianne, Michael, and us (Todd & Diane) all had the same underlying focus: to help one another become better at what we do. And to have fun doing it.
Without this phenomenal food blogging community that we all participate in, cyberspace would be a much lonelier place. Every week, food bloggers gather somewhere in the world to eat, share, laugh and encourage one another. We’re always reading or hearing about blogging communities coming together to eat, learn and disucuss all and any topics related to bettering out blogs. Anytime food bloggers come together to support one another, we’re further building the integrity and strength of this community that we value so much.
The friendships that we’ve gained over these two amazing years is the true treasure of food blogging. We owe it all to this invaluable community of food lovers, all of you, that energize us and rally us to keep blogging with integrity, spirit and conviction. Thank you to everyone who attended Food Blogger Camp 2010 and we hope that the rest of you will be able to join us at this amazing event again next year at Club Med ! Start saving your pennies, NOW!
A special thank you to Jaden, Kate and everyone at Club Med for brining us together and providing such an amazing forum for the workshops!
See you next year!,
Diane and Todd
Video : During the first part of the week, we captured footage to create a final video to present at our Multimedia Workshop at Food Blogger Camp. (for those with slow internet connection, the first viewing might be choppy. Let the video load all the way first, then you can watch through it’s entirety ,without disruption)

Found you from Jaden’s blog. I love everything about your blog, from your writing to your videos. You guys are so talented! BTW, what software do you use for editing the videos?
Thanks for all the tips.
Mvmaithai- We use Final Cut Pro for Mac’s. It’s more difficult to use, but if you’re on Mac, iMovie works beautifully and much more simple.
What beautiful pictures ! You guys really did have a blast. Nice to see what blogging has brought together. Thanks so much for sharing, made me feel like I was almost there 🙂
WOW, what a fantastic looking trip, with a wonderful group of amazing cooks and bloggers. Love the video, the photos, everything! great work guys.
Great photos. That was a lot of fun. I hope to meet other food bloggers one day and that include both of you.
love seeing so much JOY through the faces of the local and bloggers alike.
It looks like all of you had a great time! 🙂 I’m sooo jealous, Mexico is one of my favourite places in the World, after Dominica of course…
Last weekend I went with Michelle of Greedygourmet to China Town here in London… we got soaked in cold rain… but we had fun too 😉
Have a great evening!
Loved your video and photos! They’ve inspired me to start saving so I can attend next year. Don’t think I’d want to miss out on the fun one more year!
sounds like it was awesome
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
Diane and Todd, thank you so much for all your hard work putting this together. I will watch this video over and over during the course of the year while I wait for 2011’s FB Camp.
Just like the others who gave so much of their time preparing for and delivering presentations, you gave us more than just words. We will all take away lessons … information … that we could never have gotten had we not had the opportunity to spend a week together.
I’m looking forward to the future!
Thanks Diane and Todd for capturing the week in words and so many moving images, not to mention a terrific video. I enjoyed meeting you both and was impressed by your work ethic during the week. Thanks for sharing so much of yourselves and your work with us.
Lucy- you’re family will love Ixtapa! They’ve got a full kids program.
We’ll post details about next FB Camp sooooooon….
GREAT photographs! Really fun to follow your adventures there and to see what a wonderful time everyone had and the knowledge they learned. Thank you for sharing!
I am so bummed I missed it. Next year I hope!
