Peanut Brittle Cookies

See’s Candy has always been one of our favorite family chocolates for a number of delicious reasons. It’s one of the best qualities of chocolate that we can get for our money and the variety that See’s offers is diverse enough to satisfy everyone in our family. Every time we need to send a gift of chocolate out to special family and friends, we send See’s candy because we know that they’ll love every singe bite of dark/milk chocolates, nuts & chews and truffles.

Look at Mama See’s. This gentle, silver haired woman is the epitome of friendly service, old fashioned values and homemade love. It was her chocolate recipes that were the foundation for See’s Candy Company that are loved my millions of candy lovers today.

You just can’t beat the fact that when you enter any See’s Candy store, you’re greeted by a friendly, smiling associate who immediately stuffs you with a free chocolate sample. Where can you get that type of service anymore, anywhere? The stores are white, clean and always full of warm smiles from the staff behind the counter. We always feel like giggly little kids when we walk into a See’s store because we know that we get that free sample of chocolate from the nicest folks in the world.

Getting free chocolate from nice people. This could be the answer to world peace.

Their fabulous fundraising programs and online store is chock full of everything that a chocolate lover could ask for. Dark chocolates, milk chocolates, amazing truffles, nuts, no nuts, chews and more chews are just some of the offerings that See’s has in store for the lucky winner.

See's Peanut Brittle Cookies Recipe
Total Time
30 mins

See's peanut brittle so delicious and is even more amazing in cookie form. Their recipe for peanut brittle cookies is addicting, you'll want to make these for all your holiday gatherings, parties or for just everyday indulgence. As you bake the brittle into the cookies, it will melt,  giving a delicate crispy texture to the cookies which is super tasty.  That extra crunch from See's peanut brittle makes these cookies awesome!

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup See’s Peanut Brittle (crushed)
  1. Cream together brown sugar, sugar and butter. Add peanut butter and eggs (one at a time). Mix together well. In a separate bowl, sift flour, salt and baking powder.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Add the crushed See’s Peanut Brittle. Roll dough into small balls, flatten with a fork and place on a greased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.

Dear Mrs. See’s, I’ll make this short and oh so very sweet, I buy as much of your peanut brittle as I could, as it it takes me back to my youth when I could put away awesome tasting treats like that and not have to worry about the consequences!

    Dear Mrs. Sees,
Last fall my husband and I celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary. After all this time new ideas for gifts gets to be a pinch. Until, we were given a 16 oz. box of Mrs. Sees’a peanut brittle. Not a problem now. We buy each other a double box of Mrs. See’s delicious brittle for every gift occasion.

    Many thanks,
    The Perrys

Can someone please tell me why there is no See’s candy store in Canada especially in Montreal? I would even love to partner with See’s perhaps we could open a store in Montreal? The bordeau creams are my favorite and I travel often to the US just to get them. First time I had them was in 1969 and they are still heavenly!!!

    Dear Mrs. See’s,
I’d LOVE to have 2 pound Custom Mix box of caramels and toffees. I love your chocolates, and wish there were a shop here in Columbus, Ohio so I could pick them up whenever I wanted! Thank you for this chance to win some!

Sorry Amy, the contest was last year. Hopefully there is a chocolate fairy that will fulfill your wish.

  5. Noreen

    Dear Mrs. See’s,
I love your chocolate and grew up eating your yummy chocolates. My Mom always got the nut and chews box from our Uncle and since she can’t have chocolate, her four children got to eat them all. My grandmothers always had a box in the freeze that we would always sneak in and grab a piece. My two girls are now devote See’s followers, the chocolate balls, vanilla lollipops and well everything are their favorites (unless it has fruit.) My dear husband used to do the stock in one of your stores and misses the peanut butter lollipops, he still loves the other flavors too so I would get him a few and the jelly beans that should be out soon.

    Dear Mrs. See’s…

I would love to win and try the soft centers and the toffee! Why should I win..I’ve never tried your chocolates, sorry to say! Why not turn a new customer on!? haha

  7. Carrie Oliver

    Dear Mrs. Sees,
Oh, that’s easy, I would buy dark chocolates and the nuts and chews and give them all (okay, all but one) to my friend Amy, who is probably the biggest fan of See’s Candies ever.

  8. Michelle

    Dear Mrs. See’s Candy,
I love chocolates and chocolates make me happy and those whom I share them with. If I win I would get a box of assorted truffles and make more smiles. Thank you!

  9. Hélène

I can’t participate but this is a great giveaway.

I love the cookies. Looks so yummy.

    Dear Mrs. See’s Candy,

I live in Vancouver Canada and we don’t have a See’s chocolate store here 🙁 but every time we go to the USA which is almost ever month. I stop by your store and buy a few Truffles. They are the best Truffles I have found yet. You are the best!

    Dear Mrs. See’s,

I buy See’s Candy when I visit Nebraska Furniture Mart. At each register, NFM displays See’s Chocolate-Almond Bars. So far, I’ve never passed through the registers without buying at least one.

If I won this giveaway, I’d eat your chocolate bars until the milk-chocolate cows came home. Now this is my kind of contest!

  13. Tiffany

I am a newbie – Today is the first day that I was introduced to your blog. Imagine the luck – and now I am drooling over such beautiful chocolates. You have definitely won my heart over!!! I would surely ask Mama See for a custom mix, then to take my time to find my new love.

  14. Gastronomer

Another awesome giveaway, T&D! This is not an entry, just a HELLO and a compliment. See’s free samples are one of my favorite things ever. When I was broke in high school I used to buy a sugar stick just to get a free sample 😉

  15. Lindsay

I love their truffles and also the Scotchmallow Heart looks yummy

  16. Paula Maack

These cookies look incredible!! I can’t wait to try them.

I love See’s Candy! There’s one really close to my house, too!! The orange creams are my favorite, and all of the caramel ones, too. Yum!!

I just blogged about an aphrodisiac infused Valentines Day picnic at home here, should you be interested.

    Happy Valentines Day!!

    ~ Paula

    Truffles, and lots of them!

  18. Chris M.

I’d love some truffles…they’re my fav. Thanks for the giveaway!!

  19. Rebecca (Foodie With Family)

    Dear Mrs. See’s,

I would like to say that I would order a custom mix made up entirely of dark chocolate so that I could hide in the bathroom (as it is the only room in my house with a locking door that works right now) and eat it all myself. Unfortunately, Mommy guilt compels me to scrap that idea and say that I would order a 1# custom mix of few enough varieties that each of my five sons, myself and my husband would get to do a ‘chocolate tasting’ together on Valentine’s Day and then I’d probably get some of the mini toffees or peanut brittle bars to stuff in my apron pockets. THEN I would hide in the bathroom behind a locked door with the toffee and a hot cup of tea and I wouldn’t feel the teensiest bit bad about it. Maybe.

Thank you for doing what you do!

  20. Brooke

    Dear Mrs. See’s,
Your passion for great chocolate makes me want to put aside my aversion to Valentine’s day and start celebrating!

  21. Mark Boxshus

    Dear Mrs. See’s

Many years ago I worked for Mercken’s Chocolate and became aware of your outstanding confections after visiting your stores, attending regional and national confectionary conventions and indulging first hand when the opportunity presented itself. I was, and continue to be very particular about the chocolate confections I purchase, and your’s are always at the top of my list. If I were to win your contest, I’d buy an assortment of the chews and nutty confections, and probably give then to my mother as a belated Valentine’s Day gift. She has been spoiled from my years in the confectionary industry, and would absolutely adore these.

    Mark P. Boxshus

  22. Brandy

    Dear Mrs. See’s,

If I won the gift certificate, I would make a custom mix so I can get all of my favorite dark chocolate flavors. I love dark chocolate and love to make them last for a long time. Of course, I would think about sharing 🙂

Thank you very much for making chocolate

  23. Noel

    Dear Mrs. See’s,

Oh, how I LOVE your candies and wish I could eat a whole box. Unfortunately, it’s not currently on my diet. I’m on the transplant list for a new pancreas & kidney and I hope someday soon to leave my diabetic past behind me and have a bright future of health and Milk Chocolate Bordeauxs ahead of me. So this order is for my sweet hubby. Please send us a box with Dark Chocolate Molasses Chips, California Brittle, Peanut Nougats and Almond Squares.

    Your fan forever….

  24. Mellisa

    Dear Mrs. See’s,
I think your Tuxedo box of chocolate is the best. I would be willing to work at the factory if you would pay me chocolate, I will forward my resume. Thanks for your time.

  25. Jason

    Dear Mrs. See’s,

There’s a void in my life. Yes, a void. I’m from California—born and raised in fact, and my entire childhood I had See’s Candy as part of growing up. I’d beg my mother for See’s lollipops and secretly indulged in the cafe latte variety (probably because she told me they were the only ones I couldn’t have; coffee was strictly off limits); I’d sneak into my grandfather’s study and help myself to the large tub of Almond Royal—the crunchy, sticky, sweetness is a flavor combination no other dessert has been able to match; and my eyes would widen every year my mother received a 1-lb box of assorted chocolates for Christmas; how could a boy choose? Now that I live in New York, I realize just what it is I’ve lost. I’m surrounded by some of the most delicate, most artisanal, most slavishly labored-over chocolates in the world, but alas, my heart belongs only to See’s. Maybe it’s because they’re so hard to get now. Maybe it’s because they’re so utterly delicious. But I think it’s because they remind me of home; they’re a testament to where I came from. And that’s why, if I win, I’m going to buy all the California Brittle $25 can—the name says it all.

  26. Lesley

Dear Mrs. See’s, I would buy as many scotchmallows as I could. The individual pieces and not the bar because the individual pieces are covered in dark chocolate (yum!) and the bars are milk. In the days before my boyfriend — before he was my boyfriend — was dating, it was Christmas and his office had a 10 lb box of See’s chocolate. I told him my favorites were the scotchmallows and that I could always tell which pieces in a mixed box they were because they were perfectly round dark chocolate cylinders. The next time I saw him, he handed me a disposable coffee cup, filled with scotchmallows. He had rifled through the whole box for me!

  27. Manggy

    Dear Mrs. See’s,
I’d love to get an assortment of truffles, milk and dark chocolates! You see, my family out here in the States hates dark chocolate– they say it’s too bitter– and I’d love to prove them wrong with your delightful confections! 😉
And if Diane could send me some of her awesome cookies, that’d be great too! Heh heh 🙂

  28. Missy

    Dear Mrs. See,

If I were to win the gift certificate, I’d spend the whole thing on your peanut butter lollipops… oh wait… you don’t make those anymore 🙁
Any chance of a comeback before Friday?

Anyhoo, I would buy a bag of the dark chocolate foil hearts, and spend the rest on chocolate little pops.

But really, peanut butter lollies… pretty please?

  29. Simply...Gluten-free

When I moved from California to Florida one of the things I missed most was Sees Candy, you couldn’t buy it here! Fortunately times have changed and Mama Sees is sold even here a continent away.

  30. ephraim

    Dear Mrs. See’s,

I pretty thoroughly believe that if i win something i have to use it to spread a little joy among my friends and family. So, with that in mind, i would get my mom the sugar free dark peanuts – because peanuts and chocolate are pretty much her favorite thing in the world, and she’s struggling with a low-sugar diet situation now. For my girlfriend, a dark chocolate lover who can’t tolerate nuts, i’d get the dark chocolate foil hearts. And for my orthodox jewish friend who just moved overseas, i’d make up a care package including the kosher ‘awesome peanut brittle bars’ – he’d love that ‘awesome’ was in the title too.

What else would i do for good chocolate? Walk a couple miles maybe. Write a limerick about chocolate (not a sonnet though…that’s reserved for good cheese). Memorize all the chocolate flavors. Dance with a chocolate bunny. Juggle apples while whistling a chocolate theme song. And more…

  31. Heather

mmmmm. I would definitely buy anything with chocolate and caramel, but it all looks SO GOOD! what a great giveaway!

  32. AppleTree

    Dear Mrs. Sees,

If I happened to be chosen, I would get some dark chocolate…Or maybe something with nuts and caramel…Or maybe some toffee. I don’t know because the harsh truth is I have never had Mrs. Sees candy.

    Gasp, shudder, scream…

    It is true.

Perhaps it is time to try some of this famous candy.

  33. Lisa

    Dear Mrs. Sees,
If I won a 25 dollar gift certificate just from commenting on this blog post I’d buy a one pound truffle assortment and a small lollypop box to help keep those kids away from my truffles. I realize that it will probably invalidate my entry but I just can’t bring myself to mention what else I’d do for good chocolate. It just wouldn’t be fittin’. Thank you for helping me maintain my girlish figure,

  34. Jeremy

    Dear Mrs. See’s,

I would by dark chocolate – and lots of it! And not because I love dark chocolate, which I do. Instead, because my mom loves dark chocolate – and damn does she. Every couple of nights or so she calls from her room asking for a piece, a bite, any scrape of dark chocolate I can find. True story.

  35. joey

    Dear Mama Sees,
I live in Asia, so not eligible for the contest, but just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your dark chocolate with walnut clusters…I used to buy boxes filled with them from Hong Kong (which was one of the few places you could buy Sees chocolate when I was a kid!) 🙂

  36. Angel S.

    Dear Mrs. See’s,
If I were to be the lucky winner I would choose the Milk Chocolate Nuts & Chews! I like a little substance with my chocolate!! I can taste the delicious chocolate melting in my mouth now. But wait – what is that? A yummy nut is awaiting my surprised tongue! Do you have any idea what I would do for a See’s Chocolate right now? Why, I would sing from the top of my lungs a little song about the beauty of chocolate! I would dance a little dance. I would skip to m’lou with joy! How can a tiny morsel be so soothing, comforting, and tantalizing? Oh, how I hope I am the winner!

  37. Carrie Hasson

ok, not really- ha! love the cookie pics btw, can you pass me one through the screen?!

  38. Carrie Hasson

    Dear Mrs. See’s,
If I won this yummy contest I would most certainly buy a box of your nuts & chews. By far a longtime favorite and certainly has been a go-to Christmas gift for many years. I also might try something new…the California Brittle and Pecan Buds look DIVINE! Thanks Mrs. See’s for lots of years of delicious chocolate goodness!
    Yours Truly,
    Mr. Russell Stover 😉

  39. matt wright

Awesome photography guys – really loving the cookies on rack shots.

  40. desiree@lookiloos

I’ve made a variation of this cookie for the past 5 years or so at Christmas. My kids love them. I’ll try this one too! Thanks

  41. Phoo-d

    Dear Mrs. See’s candy,
I would buy a custom mix of dark chocolate truffles, because I swoon over dark chocolate. What would I do for good chocolate? Well, I accepted a wedding ring that was hidden in dark chocolate – so I guess I would make a lifetime commitment for it!

  42. claire

    Dear Mama Sees,
I would get the dark chocolate truffles. My Mama loved those, and we often would share some around this time, because her birthday was at the end of the month, and I would splurge and get her some. She adored them, especially the mocha and the mint truffles. She and I would play dominoes and eat her box of See’s. I miss my Mama.
