I tried making these with yogurt once instead of sour cream and they were very wet and hard to cook through without burning (the taste was outstanding though).

There must be something special about the sour cream that makes it work with so little flour!

Great great pictures! I want them now or at least tomorrow or when I’d be able to find a good French substitution for sour cream! Help!
And thank you for sharing so many Vietnamese recipes! It really helps me trying to recreate my mums cooking now that I left home. I never bothered to watch her cooked and today I regret it. So thanks again!!

Just found your recipe and I am super excited – with only 7 T of flour, I should be able to convert this recipe to a gluten free version without losing the great taste you tout. Here is hoping. New to your blog and have spent the last hour just thumbing through it while I rested my old tired feet.

Happened upon this recipe after noticing we were out of milk; made them and my bf said, “I think these are the best pancakes I’ve ever had. You should make them like this all the time.” So there you have it. Kudos and thanks for the recipe!

You are right about Ree. I got to meet her Saturday while she signed my cookbook. I did wait 3 hours, but it was worth it. While waiting, I noticed how she smiled and took time for everyone. The pancakes are melt-in-your-mouth delicious! I like eating in reverse, too.

You both seriously have to tell me where you get your photo props. Wherever I go they’re either way too expensive, or I just can’t find any props… These pancakes look great! Ree’s recipes can never let anyone down.
