As a bartender at Henry Africa's (SF) in the '80's, I used to hate it when we got the odd order for a Sidecar. We rimmed the glass with maraschino cherry juice (from the plastic fruit holder compartment--awkward) and then dipped it in a spoon of superfine sugar (not as easy as rimming the margarita glass in a saucer of salt). The final step was burning the sugar on the rim. No, I did not like to get an order for one of these, especially on a busy Friday or Saturday night. I see the bottle of Flowers peaking out on the corner there with the broiled figs. One of my favorites, though the Perennial is the only one in my price range here in Japan.
