My friends have a Meyer Lemon tree. It was in the backyard but is now in the garage under a grow lite. I managed to score 9 of them on New Years Eve. I got home and started looking for recipes. I looked at several but the pictures of yours looked so darn delicious I decided to give it a try (and I’ve never made curd before so I was a litte aprehensive). I just now put them in the fridge to set but I did try the curd. It made me want to run to the store and buy another dozen eggs and make the curd just so I could put it in little jars and give to my friends. Thanks a bunch for this fabulous recipe.

I’ve never made lemon bars before. Don’t like lemons all that much. But today I found myself with a bag of Meyer lemons , two cartons of eggs, and a Saturday afternoon for the waistin’. The bars are a delight! And thank you for the cutting tips. I would have made a mess of mine for sure. They came out tasty and beautifully cut.

You might check out this recipe from “Tartine’s” cookbook (San Francisco). I LOVE that version and meyer lemons make it sing.

These are great with regular lemons as well. Just adjust the sugar amount in the curd to taste. Enjoy!

Unfortunately I have JUST found this recipe and meyer lemons are out of season; I’m so bummed. How would this translate if made with regular lemons? Would I need to add more sugar to cut the tartness, how much and where? I hope you can help, I’m dying to make these at my up coming bbq
