Rain, Popcorn, Couch & Classic Movie

by on January 5, 2008

The local “Doppler Forecast” & weather report was off by about 24 hours (surprise, surprise), but the promise of rain did finally come. The garden is receiving plenty of hydration, we get some nice cold weather to cozy up to, and the winds add a soothing music against our windows. Now all we need an activity to keep us busy. What is there to do with such a perfectly rainy night? We could put up the rest of the holiday decor mess in the garage, but what for? It can wait. Gathering up the dirty laundry and making them clean could be a good idea, or even scrubbing the oven clean of last years grease might bring us good luck into 2008. But again, what the hell for? It can wait. This evening calls out for some hot, buttery popcorn, relaxing on the couch, watching an old B&W classic movie and just being LAZY! L.A.Z.Y is a great four letter word when you’ve worked hard and want to treat your self to some “me” or “we” time.

So we greased up the sauce pan and started on our “where’s the popcorn ” batch. It’s called this because we add so much shit to it, you have to sometimes wonder if there’s any popcorn hidden underneath all the layers of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, butter and nutritional yeast. Oh it’s so good and if you eat enough of it, you will notice that there really is popcorn nestled in between the layers of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, butter and nutritional yeast. We could repeat the ingredients again, but it we’ll save it for you to savor on your own. Add a refreshing beer with that (or glass or red will do nicely too) and you have a perfect rainy day evening activity.

Oh, did we mention that you can let a very “spoiled” dog up on the couch with you too if you want some extra warmth ? But only if they are worthy.
